My dream summer body that never came through

Nothing frustrates me more than New Year’s. Don’t get me wrong I love new beginnings, but nothing frustrate me more than going back to the new year’s resolution list  in December and find out that none of the things was completed. Most of all I hate to see that I am silently rebuking myself for failing to complete one thing that I desired most, my body weight. One of my new year’s resolutions last year was to begin my year with a slim body. I tried the 'get skinny quick' skims that left me almost broke because they never work and at the end I still looked roughly the same.
Now it is another new year. Other resolutions have been made. And my body weight is still on top of my ‘to do’ list.
I took my bike in hope that the cravings won’t tempt me to the core this time. My elusive summer body will be real this time because I have accountability partners who are my friends.
You would think that resolutions are just writing things that we are hoping for, not its not just that, resolutions are supposed to be a constant reminder of our wishes who may or may not come true. The future of our resolutions really depends on us. I don’t know what you are hoping for this year, you may want to lose weight like I do, or you want to get your driver’s license, whatever it is, it all depends on you.

Sometimes we write our new years eve while we are under pressure, while we feel so insecure about ourselves. Those will never work; you need to be realistic when you set your goals. When do you want to see the difference if you want to lose weight? When are you planning to go and apply for learner’s license if your goal is to have your license by the end of this year?

I cannot assure you that I have achieved my goals but I can tell you that I have shaken the thoughts and mind what I eat. And I can see the difference from the person I was at the beginning of the year. I have more energy, my skin look better, but I haven’t lost as much as i was hoping for, but I am very close to achieving my goals. So what are you hoping for this year’s? There is still time, there is hope.

Just saying

Some say they prefer apartheid government but I don't, today I was just chatting with my friends on the train on my way back from campus, it was hurting to hear that some people prefer apartheid times, due to tribalism, nipotism, lack of progress, and  corruption ect. Another friend of mine, more like an acquaintance  even said he would give his name to the rich companies who do not hire black people (African, Coloureds, Indians and Chinise) so that they can get an income from the government as long as he get his big pierce of chunk to enjoy, nothing makes more angrier than people who do not want a change, who wants to add on the chains, how can we expect a greater country that is full with possibilities if we act like slaves, even though we free?

What about those who are qualified to be there but they can't be there? It is painful to hear those things coming from young people who are probably the future of this country, yes we are facing lot of problems and challenges in our country, especially young people, challenges like unemployment and poverty, but that doesn't give us reasons to do such things, things that helps our country to move backwards, that's not humanity, we want our country to grow.
That's means, if you agree that you would use your name for a company that you not even part of it, you would give classified information to destroy the country as well, there is no difference in that or there is? Poverty is a sensitive thing, people would do anything just to put something on the table, I mean anything even selling people or their own souls, but you would never go to bed with empty stomach while you are around people, this is coming from whose life is a living witness of that, but I am still alive, poverty never made me to compromise my values.

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman

Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Old Train and the risks in CAPE TOWN, WESTERN CAPE

Metrorail train on fire in Western Cape

Wednesday 14 March 2012 06:56

It is not clear what caused the fire.
It is not clear what caused the fire.(SABC)
A fire has broken out on a metrorail train at Nolungile Station in Site C in Khayelitsha on the Cape Flats. The train was on its way to the area from Cape Town when the fire started.

Metrorail's senior manager in the Western Cape, Eddie Chinnappen, says only one coach is on fire at this stage and that the cause of the incident is not clear.

"At Nolungile Station we detected a fire on the motor coach which is in the middle of the train - not the motor coach that pulls the train in the front or the rear of the train. We're not sure what the cause of the fire is. We need to get into an investigation. The fire is under control. We didn't have any injuries, not to the driver, the guard or any passengers. We could expect delays on the Khayelitsha line."

Measures in place to improve services

Last week, Metrorail in the Western Cape said measures had been put in place to improve train services. This was in response to Cosatu's memorandum of grievances demanding immediate action to address overcrowding, security and the replacement of ageing trains.

Their demands form part of the nationwide strike action against labour broking and the e-tolling system. Chinnappen said a new fleet of trains would be rolled out by 2015.

So if fire can come out of nowhere in the train, what are the possibilities that it won't burn while it’s in motions, we all know that it takes a while for a train to stop, especially if it’s going fast. I really think that metro Rail must do something about this issue, last Friday they broke, we couldn’t pass vlottenberg, just a station before Stellenbosch, because something apparently went wrong, so no trains were able to pass, we didn’t do anything about it because we are the peaceful people, i am sure if that incident happend in Khayelitsha, nyanga or Gugulethu, things would be in places, Metro Rail, DO SOMETHING!!!
